Intro: Tutoring Assistant

Introducing Max.

Max is our four-legged Tutoring Assistant and Emotional Support Worker.

He is 2 years old, well-mannered, gentle, supportive, a great listener and always willing and able to cheer up our clients.

Max was supposed to be a Therapy dog, but he has enormous difficulty ignoring a child that needs his attention and has a love of all things tasty which unfortunately means that he has not been able to pass his P.A.T. (Public Access Test).

Despite his inability to qualify Max is still an excellent therapy dog, but he felt that he needed more. And so, after a lot of soul searching, Max realised that he could help so many more children by assisting the tutors at Empowered Kidz Australia and providing emotional support to the small, and not so small two-legged clients.

He assists in the day to day by meeting and greeting, being available to listen to reading, providing a shoulder to lean on when clients just need a bit of physical support and offering hugs when it all just gets to be too much. He will also clean up any crumbs quick smart to keep the place neat and tidy.

He is a most valued team member who is happy to lighten the mood, ease the frustrations, and put a smile on everyone's dial.
