A little more about Empowered Kidz Australia.

My name is Angelique Walker, and I founded Empowered Kidz Australia because I saw a need and an opportunity for children to learn mindfulness, resilience, and emotional regulation, to improve their confidence, manage their anxiety, and implement problem-solving skills. 

​

As a mother to two daughters with an educational background, I have seen firsthand that children often need to be guided and taught important skills that assist them in making lasting friendships, building their confidence and resilience, and managing everyday stress. I have also experienced the benefits of teaching children mindfulness, meditation, and yoga, to assist them with emotional regulation, anxiety, and self-esteem.

Having been approached by many friends to assist their children with Literacy, Mathematics, and other educational shortfalls, and being passionate about helping children thrive I have added individualised, effective tutoring services to assist the many children who fall through the cracks. Children who fail to grasp a concept at school before the teacher moves on, and in time get further and further behind. I also assist the children who need extensions to thrive.

With both my children having a diagnosis of Autism and ADHD, I have many years of experience dealing with the bureaucracy of the NDIS and have extensive knowledge of what is required to receive the correct services successfully. My youngest is non-verbal and has high needs, so I am well-versed in advocating for her needs and goals. Having assisted many others with the process and realising that many parents and caregivers need help with the process, support coordination appointments are now available. I do hold certification as a qualified support coordinator.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Police Science (Criminology) from the University of South Africa, with a minor in Psychology. I also hold a Bachelor of Educational Studies from Curtin University and am currently studying for my master’s in teaching. I have certification in kid's yoga. And have many years of hands-on experience working with children.

Empowered Kidz Australia has grown by leaps and bounds and is currently expanding all services due to overwhelming demand.
